[ lumine hums her assent. if even childe thought it was bad, that's certainly saying something. ]

I heard the same. It sounded.. horrific. It ought to give us an idea of what to expect.

Right. We should be prepared for anything...which doesn't give us much to rely on, but if you ever need a hand in one of these games, you can count on me to be an ally.

[ Assuming they're not directly pitted against each other, but even then, if it was something he objected to, he would simply take the loss. ]

[ she smiles up at the stars. ]

[ He'll stick by her here, for better or for worse. ]

[ she chuckles, and nudges his shoulder playfully with hers. ]

I won't. I'm used to working with a partner, anyway.

Paimon? Are you sure she's not more of a liability?

[ paimon not even here to defend herself!! lumine laughs, tho.. ]

Sometimes, maybe. But I was with my brother before that, too. I'm not used to being so.. alone.

[ He casts her a sidelong glance, before returning his gaze to the stars. ]

Well, then! I'm just going to have to make my presence around you more permanent. You better not be sick of my face yet.

Not yet. Believe me, you'll know when I'm sick of you. I won't hesitate to let you know.

[ that much is definitely true.. ]

I figure I won't be standing here when that's the case.

[ HEY.... ]

"When"? Not "if"? You wound me, comrade!

[ lumine breaks into a bright, musical laugh - she'd hoped he would catch that. ]

Don't worry, it won't come to that. You're my friend, aren't you?

[ enemies, friends.. things between them are so complicated, but she cannot deny that she is fond of him. she can only assume the same of him. ]

[ That laugh is like music to his ears - even if it was at his expense! Still, he doesn't look terribly upset, a warm smile on his lips.

A friend...not just a comrade. Yes, he likes the sound of that. ]

That's right. I'll be difficult to shake loose now.

[ she turns her head to look at him. ]

You mean you weren't before?

[ they just kept running into each other. fate, or some nonsense. ]

...I mean even more so, if you can believe it.

[ she smiles at his profile. ]

I'll hold you to that.
