[ she plucks up one of the skewers at last - the meat seems as done as it's going to get. ]

Maybe she is. But that shouldn't stop us.

[ It APPEARS cooked, even if the meat of these fish is still kind of a weird color. Oh, well, salmonella, here they come! ]

Stop us from what?

[ I MEAN, IT TURNED OUT FINE... I'M TALKING ABOUT THE RAIDEN SHOGUN!! don't look at her about miss heavenly principles ]

Trying to leave. Trying to stop her. Unless you want to stay here, but I imagine you have plenty to return to.

Of course not. But that won't stop me from making the most of being here, either. Think of how much stronger we'll be, when we return to Teyvat.

[luminate]

If it sticks. I was told that time here is.. odd. Teyvat stands still while we linger here.

[ which is.. a consolation more than anything else. ]

[ He'd heard that, too, and if it's true, that makes him even less in a hurry to get back. ]

[ she just. gives him a glance. then bites into her skewered fish.

at first she pulls a face because the texture is pretty chewy, but then.. hey actually it tastes pretty good. she's like that meme, you know the one. ]

[ I KNOW EXACTLY WHICH ONE

Childe follows suit, biting into the blobfish meat on his skewer. ]

Huh...not what I expected, but it's pretty flavorful.

[luminate]

[ she takes another bite, and lumine can't help but smile. this is the most normal she has felt since arriving here, and it feels so good. she could almost pretend they're back in teyvat. ]

This was a good idea.

[marmoris]

[ Her smile makes his chest feel light and airy, only serving to burgeon his own. ]

Yeah...it was, wasn't it? We should make a habit out of this. That is, if you're not sick of me already.

[ He's kidding, of course. No one could ever get sick of him! ]

Well..

[ she begins, teasing, then takes another bite, finishing off her first skewer. ]

I suppose it wouldn't be too terrible to do it again.

[marmoris]

Don't sound too excited about the possibility. It might go to my head.

[luminate]

We can't have that.

[marmoris]

[ He flashes her a grin, before sticking the second kebab in his mouth. It's also pretty good! In fact, as it turns out, all the fish are quite delicious, despite their looks. Cue another montage of them exchanging flirts quips and chatting while finishing their meal, all while the sun goes down.

Once they're done, Childe leans back on his hands and sighs. ]

So long as we don't drop dead in the next few hours, I'd say that was a huge success.

[ inhaling deeply, lumine casts her gaze up to the darkened sky, to stars she does not recognize, but that is nothing new to her, either. how many different skies has she seen? ]

So far, so good. I feel fine. Who would have thought they would be so delicious?

They absolutely had me fooled. But as they say, nothing ventured, nothing gained.

[ His gaze falls back to the fire, which is still burning. ]

So...did you want to hang out here awhile longer, or head back? I didn't exactly mean to steal your whole day like this.

[luminate]

Not exactly, hm?

[ she chuckles, and looks toward him, studying his profile. ]

It's fine, I don't mind. Are you getting tired?

[marmoris]

After a day of fishing? Nah, I feel more energized than I did this morning.

[ But it's a rare occurrence that he runs out of energy. ]

We can stay awhile longer, if you'd like. It'd be a shame to miss out on a view like this.

[luminate]

It would.

[ lumine leans back on her hands, then lowers herself until she's lying back. she'll regret getting sand in her hair and dress, but it's worth it in the moment, to watch the dark sky open up before her eyes, to feel the sunwarmed sand beneath her. ]

I can spare a little bit more time.

[marmoris]

[ Just as she does, he slips off his jacket and leans back, hands behind his head, his ankle resting on one knee. Quite the view, indeed. ]

That's what I was hoping to hear. I get the feeling that moments like this are few and far between here.

[luminate]

[ her gaze shifts briefly to his profile as he lies back, then it's back to the stars. ]

Mm. It almost feels like the calm before the storm.

...I heard that the game before we got here involved a lot of bloodshed. Which would, of course, normally be right up my alley, but not the way they had to do it.

[ He has his own moral code, and won't hesitate to end a life if he justifies it by his own reasoning, but even he wonders if this place could push him to make a choice he doesn't want to. ]

[ lumine hums her assent. if even childe thought it was bad, that's certainly saying something. ]

I heard the same. It sounded.. horrific. It ought to give us an idea of what to expect.

Right. We should be prepared for anything...which doesn't give us much to rely on, but if you ever need a hand in one of these games, you can count on me to be an ally.

[ Assuming they're not directly pitted against each other, but even then, if it was something he objected to, he would simply take the loss. ]
